Since 1999, the MSU Office of International Studies and Programs, in cooperation with the MSU Alumni Association, has sponsored MSU Global Focus, an annual international photography competition for MSU students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Every year, hundreds of entries are received and evaluated by a panel of jurors made up of a combination of MSU faculty and staff with photographic expertise and professional photographers or studio owners from the community.

For MSU Global Focus 2007, 30 winning images were chosen from more than 200 entries.

All of the winning photos, along with information about the artists, their prizes and the prize sponsors, can be found on the Global Focus Web site. In addition, framed enlargements of the top three photos from each category are displayed in the International Center lobby. Enlargements of honorable mentions are on display elsewhere in the building.

In late 2005, ISP released a beautiful coffee table book, “Global Focus: Images of a Land-Grant Tradition.” The book highlights a selection of past winners, along with images of MSU’s long history of international involvements. For more information about this volume, visit the MSU Press Web site at www.msupress.msu.edu.
