International film festival to focus on Latin America
MSU’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences will host its second annual international film festival, CASIFF, Nov. 8 through 11 featuring films of Latin America. Michigan and Sweden work together to grow the bioeconomy
A delegation from Michigan, which included Gov. Jennifer Granholm and MSU faculty members, traveled to Sweden in August to discuss how the country and the state can use their competitive advantages to create thriving bioproducts industries. The major objective of the trip was to find out how Sweden manages its forests to support industry and manufacturing without harming the environment. Go to Full Story

Record number of international students enrolled at MSU
New records at MSU’s Office of Admissions show a significant rise in the number of international freshmen admissions for the 2007–08 academic year, making it the highest international enrollment in MSU history. The spike in the number of international students enrolled at MSU is partly attributed to the university ramping up its recruitment efforts in a number of countries. Go to Full Story

MSU master's degree program produces skilled Peace Corps volunteers
Already a top producer of Peace Corps volunteers, MSU is working to fill the void of agricultural and environmental volunteers in developing countries by offering a master’s program that lets students combine service abroad with coursework on campus.
